TFQL
Transport for Quality of Life rebrand – updating a well-known brand identity while maintaining recognition and enhancing user experience.
The Transport for Quality of Life (TFQL) rebrand came at a pivotal moment in the company’s evolution, following a change in management. The goal was to audit the existing brand, assess how it was being used, and refresh its visual identity to better align with the company’s future direction.
Along with the rebrand, a new website was also required to match this next phase of growth.
The challenge was to maintain the brand’s recognition in the market while refreshing its design to reflect a modern and progressive business.
While the TFQL logo was widely known, the identity needed an update to ensure it worked effectively across all digital and print touchpoints. The design solution focused on creating a new TFQL icon that incorporated key elements of the old logo, including the typeface, colour scheme, and the arrow, ensuring a smooth transition while giving the brand a fresh look.
The new website was built to be accessible, meeting WCAG 2.1 standards and allowing users to switch between English, Welsh, and Scottish Gaelic. An updated document library with an enhanced search function made it easier to navigate the extensive content.
The result was a successful rebrand that preserved the familiar aspects of TFQL’s identity, while introducing a modern look and feel to signal the company’s new phase. The website’s improved functionality further enhanced the user experience, ensuring accessibility and engagement.
