Websites that

Accessible, intuitive and collaborative design – bringing marketers and developers together

UX and web design

Collaboration at the core

A website is rarely built by one person – it’s a collaboration between marketers, designers, developers, copywriters, and sometimes SEO or UX specialists too. At Why Design, our role is to bring that collaboration together and make sure design sits at the heart of it. The result is websites that aren’t just attractive, but accessible, intuitive and effective.

Your remote in-house design team

We work as your remote in-house studio, embedding into your process and collaborating with your wider team or chosen partners. For agencies, that means we become your design backbone when delivering websites for clients. For in-house teams, we provide the design expertise that connects marketing, development and content into one coherent experience.

People before pixels

Our process starts with people. Together, we map user journeys, define structure and hierarchy, and plan the information architecture that shapes the site. Only then do we apply visual design – responsive layouts, interaction design, typography and imagery – always keeping accessibility in mind. WCAG 2.2 compliance, alt text, colour contrast, semantic headings, clear form design: these are built into every project, not added at the end.

Clear communication, seamless delivery

Because websites are complex, communication is key. We liaise with developers, content writers and marketing teams to make sure the design vision translates into a working site. We also provide an accessibility report so you can evidence compliance and share it internally or with clients.

More than a website

A website is never “done” the day it launches – it’s a living platform that should evolve as your business and audiences change. We support you beyond the build, helping you refine designs, refresh content and adapt layouts so your site keeps working hard. By staying connected as your remote in-house studio, we give you consistency, clarity and confidence over the long term.

Why it works with Why Design

With Why Design, UX and web design is never decoration. It’s about pulling people, skills and processes together into a site that works for everyone. For agencies, that means delivering web projects that make clients trust you more. For in-house teams, it means websites that are flexible, inclusive and aligned to multiple brand needs.
