Brand creation, merchandise, website and marketing collateral accompanied by a marketing plan helped put Bridlington Bay Lobster on to the food map.
Caught in collaboration
Bridlington in East Yorkshire is the lobster capital of Europe – but few people knew it. Despite landing more lobster than anywhere else in Europe, the town’s premium product was being sold on for others to brand and market. Bridlington Bay Lobster needed a distinct identity that would put it on the international food map and help secure a fairer price for the local industry.
Working in partnership with a specialist marketing agency, we were tasked with creating a brand and digital presence that could speak confidently to chefs, consumers, and the seafood trade alike. The brief included research, brand identity, website design, marketing collateral, and brand guardianship – all brought together through a collaborative approach that united local fishermen, tourism partners, and regional stakeholders.
The research revealed a clear direction: the brand had to express geography, heritage, and authenticity while remaining approachable and adaptable. It needed to feel as natural on an export box or street-food wrapper as it would in a Michelin-starred menu.
Branded to scale
We developed a strong, contemporary identity that balances heritage with sophistication. The bold typography and refined colour palette evoke both the rugged coastline and the premium quality of the catch, while the clean, flexible design system ensures consistency across every touchpoint – from packaging and menus to digital channels.
The website, designed and built in partnership with the marketing agency, bridges B2B and B2C audiences, showcasing provenance, sustainability, and the local story behind the brand. Cohesive design thinking extended into event materials, chef partnerships, and national PR campaigns, giving the brand a confident visual voice across all platforms.
The result is a brand that’s as adaptable as it is distinctive – one that’s given Bridlington Bay Lobster a clear identity, unified its stakeholders, and firmly placed it on the UK food map with ambitions to go even further.
