The Fitter Golfer
The Fitter Golfer sports branding is a great example of how an exciting and dynamic brand can be designed successfully across both print and digital.
Ben Cuthbert, a golf fitness coach, asked us to develop sports branding for his new venture. The Fitter Golfer targets golfers of various ages and abilities, helping them improve their game by improving their fitness. Having already developed a strong working relationship with Ben when branding his health studio he was keen to work with us again. As per any branding project, we listened to the client’s brief and asked lots of question to get a feel for who they are, what they want to say and who they want to say it to. Whilst Ben knew who his audience were, he still wasn’t quite sure about how he wanted to talk to them.
To help with that we presented four concepts, covering a range of approaches from serious to playful. Sometimes the client needs to actually see their business on paper to really understand who they are and what they want to be. This certainly helped Ben decide which would work best for him.
The chosen design featured the idea of using the negative space in the ‘O’ of golfer as a golf ball, which was cleverly defined by removing a golf tee shaped piece from the base of the ‘O’. This then served as a useful branding tool across other pieces of work.
The new brand was designed across a range of stationery, brochures, client welcome packs, sportswear and a new website.
